            FAMILY LIFE MINISTRIES

WELCOMING COMMITTEE

The Welcoming Committee is an outreach ministry which communicates with all new members of the parish offering a warm welcome to those moving into the area. Volunteers are needed to assist in contacting newcomers by phone or personal visit to explain the various ministries, activities, organizations and events that St. Joseph  offers.  Contact Person: Carol Stratton 232-4922 Ext 27,       Email: carol.stratton@menomoniecatholic.org                                     

HOSPITALITY SUNDAYS

On the 2nd Sunday of the month after each Mass, members of the Hospitality Committee offer coffee and fellowship in Charles Hall. It provides a time to welcome new members  and an opportunity to socialize.  Contact Person:  Carol Stratton 232-4922                                                                   

BREAKING BREAD

Twice a year we invite people who wish, to join a group of three other (singles, couples, families) for one meal a month for four consecutive months. These dinner groups offer an opportunity to meet new friends  in our community by sharing a limited number of social get-to-gethers.  Contact Persons: Tom & Suzanne Bilse  235-3056     

 

MINISTRY OF MOTHER TERESA

The Ministry of Mother Teresa provides a !ink between St. Joseph and parishioners who are homebound, hospitalized or convalescing. This ministry includes bringing Eucharist and sharing the Word, visiting, listening and being there when someone is in need of support and comfort.  Contact Person: Rose Mary Stoll  235-9684

GRIEF SUPPORT MINISTRY

The Grief Support committee is a ministry whose goal is to be of support and comfort to all those in the parish family who are experiencing grief from the loss of a loved one through death.  “Griefsharing” is a God-centered video/discussion series offered by this ministry in the spring, fall and winter. It addressed the “Emotions of Grief”, “When Your Spouse Dies”, “Your Family Grief”’, “Growing Through Grief”, and “Longing For Heaven”. Watch the church bulletin for the announcements of the session date and time.

It is important to the committee that they be informed not only of losses within the immediate parish family but also those members of the parish who have lost someone from outside the area.  Contact Person: Sharon Mosler  235-2868

P.C.C.W. - All Women of the Parish

The Parish Council of Catholic Women is an organization of ALL women of the parish. As the spiritual hearts of our families and homes, they develop their own spirituality while building a sense of Christian Community through social functions, spiritual growth, fundraising, and service in the parish and surrounding community. The P.C.C.W. is the responsible manager of Charles Hall and kitchen. Active members are divided into 12 groups which, on a monthly rotation basis, provide aid for monthly service projects, fundraisers and can be called upon for assistance with weddings, funerals, and special event luncheons. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, family, fraternal organization founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael McGivney and a small group of Catholic men with the goal of providing security for the widows and orphans of parishes. Today that idea has grown to over 10,700 local councils with more than 1.5 million members worldwide. In 1995, Knights of Columbus gave nearly 50 million hours of personal service to the Church and to community and youth programs contributing more than one million dollars. Locally, Knights have provided the parish with funds and/or services in many ways.  Membership is open to all Catholic men 18 years of age and older. NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING

Natural Family Planning (NFP) is a means of either achieving or avoiding pregnancy based on a couple’s own knowledge of fertility awareness.  NFP couples accept fertility as a normal and healthy process which should be valued, respected and wisely used. NFP is not calendar rhythm. Rather it is a highly reliable method of family planning with a  method effectiveness rating for achieving or avoiding  pregnancy of 98+%.
