Youth Education and Ministry - November Youth Calendar

Little Church (3-5 years)

Children from 3 to 5 years old are invited to Little Church!  We gather in the Kindergarten Room during the 10:15 Mass to sing, listen to a Bible story, and complete an activity related to the theme of the Bible story.

Registration is required.  See the attached calendar for dates – we’ll see you there!

Children’s Liturgy of the Word (5 years – 2nd Grade)

Children age 5 years old through 2nd grade are invited to participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word!  We gather in Charles Hall for a portion of the 10:15 Mass to pray, sing, and hear the Gospel from a Children’s Lectionary.  Children are guided in a discussion and activity to illustrate how the Gospel applies to their own lives.

You need not register for this program.  We look forward to seeing you there!

GIFT Growing In Faith Together (1st – 6th Grade)

Children from 1st through 6th grade meet at the parish center two Wednesdays a month from 5:00-6:15 PM.  Classes include discussion, activities, service projects, and prayer to support parents in their role as primary educators of their children in Catholic faith and practice.

Registration is required.  See the attached calendar for dates.

Sacrament of Confirmation (10th Grade)

Youth in 10th grade meet one Sunday a month from 5:00-8:00 PM as a large group to learn about their faith through prayer, discussion, and a presentation by a member of the Confirmation team.  Confirmation candidates are asked to find a mentor to work with them during this sacrament year.  Mentors and Confirmation candidates meet once a month one-on-one, and once a month with a Small Faith Sharing group of other candidates and mentors.  Requirements of this program include: completion of Big TYME or an equivalent program, participation in an overnight retreat, and completion of the workbook and journal Confirmed In the Spirit.

Registration is required.  See the attached calendar for dates and topics.

Young people…
“Let no one have contempt for your youth, but set an example for those who believe in your speech, conduct, love, faith, and purity” 1 Timothy 4:12

Our Mission is to facilitate and support the developing faith of our teens.  We desire to educate and excite youth about their faith, so they may become confident in their beliefs and responsibilities as Catholics.

TYME—Grades 7-8

Sessions include large and small group sharing, activities, Parent-Teen Nights, guest speakers, community, and prayer.  We meet the 3rd Wednesday of each month during the school year

HANG TYME—Grades 7-8

Includes prayer, informal faith discussions, and fun!  Some of our activities include biking with Fr. Tom, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, pizza nights, Dodgeball/game night, and a neighborhood food drive. Typically we meet the 4th Wednesday of each month during the school year.

BIG TYME—Grade 9 or Pre-Confirmation High School

The focus is on Catholic doctrine based on Tradition and Scripture.  We discuss our Catholic beliefs, pray using Sacred Scripture, and learn the principles of Catholic Social Teachings. We meet the first Wednesday of each month during the school year.

Big TYME Service Night—Ministry is stressed through sharing our time and gifts with others. Our youth gather at the Parish Center and then disperse as small groups to volunteer at scheduled sites in our community the 2nd Wednesday of each month during the school year. Big TYME is also responsible for Shadow Stations during Lent

Young Adult Ministry

Post Confirmation Youth are called to serve the parish and community.  There are several opportunities to get involved in liturgy such as being a Eucharistic Minister, Reader, Usher, Choir Member, or Greeter.  Young adults may be small group leaders for the TYME program, serve Tuesday’s Table or join other service events
