Mrs. Lakatos - Fourth Grade

Hello!  My name is Tammi Lakatos and I have been the 4th grade teacher for the last six years.  Fourth grade is a fun year of growing and learning as the curriculum focuses on everything from the great state of Wisconsin to long division. The students also have the opportunity to become altar servers as well as get involved in the basketball and volleyball programs here at St. Joes.

I feel blessed working at St. Joe’s.  I love having the opportunity to work with a great staff and the wonderful families that belong to our school.  I love the fact that on Friday mornings after Mass my class is humming the closing song during our Spelling test.  I love praying with my class and being able to look at someone and say, “Is this how God would want you to act?” But most of all, I love knowing that what we teach does make a difference, and that each child has been instilled with values that can only be learned from a loving and Christian environment.

Teaching Philosophy:

I believe that every child is special and unique and it is my job to help them grow both intellectually and spiritually.  In order for a child to grow they need a good diet, a good nights sleep, and structure.  Although I can’t provide the food and rest, I do strive to provide the structure.  Each child in my class knows what is expected of them and what the consequences are if they don’t hold up their end.  They take pride in who they are and in their work, and I enjoy sitting back and watching them gain confidence in themselves and compassion for those around them.
